Minister for Industries & Commerce presides over a review meeting of IWRP Project and CM’s Skills Development Initiative 2024

The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, on April 22, 2024, presided over a meeting at the ICI&SDD Secretariat to review the progress of the IWRP project. The Project Director IWRP apprised the Minister that the project aimed at upgrading sixteen (16) colleges of TEVTA and three (03) institutes of PVTC as Centres of Excellence. These Centres of Excellence would provide contemporary technical trainings in areas including food processing, information communication technology, textile and garments and construction. 
The Chief Minister’s Skill Development Initiative 2024 was also deliberated upon during the meeting. The Minister was apprised that TEVTA would launch a cutting edge technology program for the youth in May 2024 in thirty five (35) districts across Punjab. These 3 months international certification programs would be introduced in six (06) fields i.e. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Graphic Designing (UI/UX Design), Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics and Game Development.
The Minister appreciated TEVTA and the Industries & Commerce Department and advised to keep abreast of the modern technology trends for inclusion in the bucket of technology programs offered at various institutions working under the administrative control of the ICI&SDD.
