The scheme titled “CM Skill Development Initiatives” is included in the Annual Development Plan at GS No. 7349 with the total cost of Rs. 200 Million and allocation of Rs. 50 Million in ADP F.Y. 2023-24 and Rs. 150 Million for F.Y 2024-25.

15/04/2024	15/04/2024	PC-I Approval	The Project at total cost of Rs. 199.512 Million was approved by DDSC Chaired by the Secretary ICI&SDD in the meeting held on 15.04.2024.
16/04/2024	16/04/2024	Admin Approval	Administrative Approval was issued on 16.04.2024 by ICI&SD Department.
13/05/2024	13/05/2024	Launching	Chief Minister Punjab inaugurated the Project in the ceremony held at Govt. College of Technology for Women at Lytton Road, Lahore
17/05/2024	13/05/2024	Procurement	Letter of acceptance issued on 14.05.2024. The matter was delayed due to late provision of Performance Security by the bidder.
30/06/2025	10/06/2025	Trainings	Second Batch of Chief Minister Skill Development Initiative (CMSDI) is started on September 02, 2024 in 17 Districts including 9 Divisional Headquarters. In this batch, two new courses are added, i.e., Digital Marketing in 06 locations and Pythons at 02 locations by replacing Game Development. Visiting faculty Instructors are hired for two new course and Classes are in progress.

Goals & Objectives

To introduce industry-relevant /internationally certified IT certifications and training programs to equip students with in-demand skills and enhance their employability.
To promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students through training.
To train 4,000 youth in different IT courses which are in high demand.
To help reduce poverty by imparting employable skills to youth of Punjab in specific IT field.
To upgrade skills of youth by acquiring internationally recognized certification.
