Ms. Nosheen Malik, Special Secretary, Industries, Commerce & Investment Department (IC&ID), Government of the Punjab, conducted an unannounced visit to the Business Facilitation Centre (BFC), Lahore. She was accompanied by Mr. Abubakar Zubair, Deputy Secretary (Commerce), IC&ID.
Upon arrival, the visiting dignitaries were received by the Manager of the Business Facilitation Centre. The Manager extended a courteous welcome and proceeded to present a comprehensive briefing, highlighting the performance trajectory and operational milestones of the Centre since its inception. The briefing encompassed key achievements, departmental integration, client facilitation mechanisms, and efforts aimed at promoting a conducive business environment within the province.
Following the initial briefing, Ms. Nosheen Malik, Special Secretary, IC&ID, visited each departmental service desk established within the premises of the Centre. During the course of her visit, she personally interacted with the concerned departmental representatives and raised various queries related to inter-departmental coordination, efficiency of service delivery, and procedural effectiveness. Her inquiries focused on the real-time functioning of each desk and the nature of services being rendered to the public.
Ms. Malik also took the opportunity to engage directly with clients present at the service desks. She inquired about the nature of services they were availing, the timelines involved, and their overall experience with the facilitation process. Particular emphasis was placed on collecting constructive feedback from the citizens, with a view to identify areas requiring further enhancement.
The Special Secretary expressed her appreciation for the Government of the Punjab's initiative in establishing a one-window Business Facilitation Centre aimed at streamlining regulatory processes and facilitating business operations under a unified platform. She commended the operational framework of BFC and acknowledged the proactive efforts being undertaken to improve service delivery, foster transparency, and ensure client satisfaction.
The visit concluded with encouraging remarks by Ms. Nosheen Malik, who reiterated the importance of sustained oversight, inter-agency coordination, and client-centred reforms in ensuring the continued success of the Business Facilitation Centre, Lahore.
