The leading institutions for skills development in Punjab are the Punjab Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Punjab Skills Development Authority (PSDA), Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore, University of Technology Rasul and Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, DG Khan.

Punjab Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), is a Special Institution operating under the administrative control of the Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skills Development Department, Punjab. Established in 1999, the authority is governed through TEVTA Act 2010. Its primary mission is to promote and facilitate technical and vocational education and training for enhancing employability and skills of the youth and workforce in Punjab.

TEVTA is responsible for establishment of technical institutions, Educational Programs, Skills Training, Industry Collaboration, Public-Private Partnerships, Entrepreneurship Promotion, Quality Assurance, Employment & Economic Growth and Foreign Collaboration through Grants in Aid and Soft Loans.  TEVTA has spread over 400 institutes all over the Punjab having annual regular training capacity of 90,000 in different programs ranging from 3-month to 48-months’ duration.

Punjab Skills Development Authority (PSDA), is an apex regulatory body for the Skills Sector in Punjab. PSDA works under the administrative control of the Industries, Commerce, Investment & Skills Development Department, Punjab.

Following regulations have been approved/cleared by PSDA Board/Authority for approval by government:

  • Registration Regulations, 2022
  • Engagement of Legal Advisors/Counsels Regulations, 2022
  • Registration of Assessment Agencies Regulations, 2022
  • Inspection, Monitoring & Evaluation Regulations, 2022
