SME Development

PSIC mandate is to promote & develop of small, cottage and other industry through: 
•    Establishment of small industrial estates
•    Provision of credit/ micro finance facilities
•    Establishment of industrial support centers
•    Development of handicrafts
Since its inception, PSIC has launched 22 loaning schemes benefiting 30,254entrepreneurs and small businesses and has disbursed an amount of Rs. 22,202.399 million on subsidized or zero markup.
Currently credit facility programs of PSIC include the following initiatives.

Punjab Rozgar

A flagship initiative of government of the Punjab was launched during 2020 to provide subsidized credit facilities to the startups and existing businesses (SMEs). PSIC in collaboration with the bank of Punjab providing credit facilities from Rs. 0.1 Million to Rs. 10.00 million on subsidized rate of markup i.e. 4% to 5% to the target market. Under this scheme, Rs. 16,652.5 million has been disbursed as loan to 6,323 borrowers/enterprises up till June, 2024.

Financial Support for Cottage Industries / Cluster Development

This scheme was launched during the year 2019-20 to provide easy access to finance the specified clusters in Punjab. Under the scheme, loan up to Rs. 300,000/- are being provided at the operational cost of Rs. 6.00% per annum. Up till September, 2024. 923 loans have been disbursed with amount of Rs. 179.00 million.

Interest Free Financial Assistance Scheme for Skilled / Semi Skilled and Home-Based Workers

The scheme is designed to provide easy access of interest free credit up to Rs. 200,000/- to craftsmen/women for generating new jobs and poverty alleviation in the province from its own resources with the cost of Rs.50.00 million and 1970 entrepreneurs have been facilitated with the amount of Rs. 198.115 million up till September, 2024

Pilot / demonstration resource efficiency and cleaner production investments in key industrial sectors (under Punjab Green Development Program)

Under this scheme, interest free financial support up to Rs.10.00 million is being offered to the SMEs in leather, steel furnaces, re-rolling units, stone crushers, and rice husking mills for adoption of resource efficiency and cleaner production technologies. Under this scheme, Rs.612.380 million has been disbursed as loan to 83 borrowers/enterprises up till date.

Financial Assistance For Up-Scaling / Hand Holding of Loanees of Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme Lahore 

The scheme was launched in 2015 with an objective to provide interest free loans to upscale and handhold the loanees of CMSES. An amount of Rs. 54.700 million has been disbursed to 371 loanees

Empowering the Artisian for Cholistan & Bahawalnagar

Under this scheme, interest free financial support up to Rs.0.025 million is being offered to the SMEs To empower the female entrepreneurs through skill development and financial assistance. Under this scheme, rs.12.700 million has been disbursed as loan to 508 borrowers/enterprises up till date.

ADP Zahirpir (Bahawalpur)

Under this scheme, interest free financial support up to Rs.0.025 million is being offered to the SMEs.to meet financial requirement of passed out trainees of the centers and others artisans of R.Y. Khan. Under this scheme, rs.3.400 million has been disbursed as loan to 136 borrowers/enterprises up till date.
